Serves 4
Steps:
- Put the rice into a sieve and rince under cold water.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter and add the cardamom pods, cloves, cinnamon and saffron threads and cook for about 1 minute.
- Add the rice to the butter and mix until the rice is coated, then add the water.
- Bring to the boil and then reduce heat and cook for about 15 minutes.
- Turn off heat and place a lid on the saucepan and allow the rice to finish cooking in its own heat for a further 5 minutes.
- Use a fork to separate the rice and then serve.
This rice is a wonderful accompaniment to most Indian dishes along with some naan bread!
